Mayan Cacao Mixer
$22 – $45
What a rare find! This ancient tool, called a “molinillo,” is what the Mayans and Aztecs have used for thousands of years to mix their cacao into warm water.
Each molinillo “cacao mixer” is 100% hand-crafted by artisans in Mexico from wood and burned with designs on the outside to give a beautiful aesthetic. They have the facets on their sides, as well as spinning rings, to agitate the water and mix in the cacao.
One most important aspect of making cacao, is that it mixes well. While a blender works great, some of us want a more authentic, artisanal, and handmade touch for the entire process. With this molinillo, you can make rich, creamy cacao in seconds: We cacao lovers are serious when it comes to a creamy cacao.
Easy To Clean and Store: The molinillo can be put under warm running water and cleaned with ease. Make sure to leave out to dry well after washing.
There are 3 different sizes of the molinillo:
• SMALL: Fits within your mug, as to mix directly in your cup or a small pot. 7.5-inches in length.
• MEDIUM: Works well in a small or medium sized pot for quantities sufficient for 3-14 people. 10-inches in length.
• LARGE: Full-sized for medium-large pots serving ceremonies in large group contexts of roughly 15 people or more. 12.5-inches in length
The molinillo also comes in two designs/levels of carving detail:
– SIMPLE: a beautiful yet basic version that functions well and looks beautiful, while saving on some of the cost.
– ARTISAN: a very intricately designed version with no detail spared in the carving and burning work.
Blessings to you and the people who made this tool for helping you share the cacao-goodness!
